DIPLOMA - READING FOX
libraries of the JoRaJuPuSu -area have designed a reading
diploma for the first to sixth graders of the elementary school.
student can perform a reading diploma every year by reading 1-3
books from six different groups. The groups are picture books,
comic books, fairytales, domestic tales, foreign tales and poems.
reading diploma is achieved by reading six books, one from each
group. A reading virtuoso diploma is achieved by reading twelve
books, two from each group, and the reading master diploma is
achieved by reading eighteen books, three from each group.
reading diplomas are called by names of different foxes:
Lukukettunen for the first graders, Lukurepo for the second
graders, Kirjakettu for the third graders, Hopeakettu for the
fourth graders, Platinakettu for the fifth graders and Kettu Repolainen
for the sixth graders.
a student achieves a diploma, it will be marked on the spring
report. The student is also given a certificate of honour. The
literature diploma is carried out when all six reading diplomas
are done and this is only possible to achieve on the sixth grade.
goal of the reading diploma is to improve the reading hobby
amongst the children and youngsters and the same time to produce
new experiences, feelings and insights. By reading books you can
improve your reading and vocabulary. Also by reading books you
get a good general knowledge and learn about the culture of
Finland and other countries.
diploma books are presented in the library in every class groups.
